Get up to $1,949 a month from the Department of Veterans Affairs for veterans who served on active duty during World War II, the Korean Conflict, or the Vietnam War. Get up to $1,056 a month from the Department of Veterans Affairs for single widows or widowers of veterans who served on active duty during World War II, the Korean Conflict or the Vietnam War. This extra income can be used to pay for home care, assisted living, or nursing care.
